Why I’m Running
I am running for school board because, as a parent, educator, and advocate for public education, I care deeply about the success and well-being of our students and the effectiveness of our schools. Over the past few years, I have seen growing concerns in our community about certain policies and a lack of open communication between the board and families. I believe there is a real need for fresh perspectives and improvements in how the board engages with students, staff, and parents.
Better communication and thoughtful decision-making are essential to ensuring that all voices are heard and that our policies serve the greater good of the entire district. The school board’s role is to provide leadership, oversight, and accountability, and I want to be part of a team that works together to promote the best educational and workplace opportunities for everyone in CyFair ISD.
With over 20 years of experience as an educator, I have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within our educational system.
My service as a board member for a local community organization and a labor union has strengthened my leadership, governance, and strategic decision-making skills. I have also volunteered with public education organizations, advocating for strong public education policies and building a solid foundation in policy development and effective communication.
These experiences have prepared me to contribute effectively as a board trustee. I am committed to bringing needed improvements, fostering a more collaborative and effective school board, and ensuring that every student, family, and staff member in our district has a voice and the opportunity to succeed.
